DISEMVOWEL
[dis-em-vou-uhl] v. 1. The deliberate removal of vowels from words to shorten the length of text messages or emails. 2. Also used to create a jovial mood in text messaging or emails.
NB. The reason texters began disemvowelling words was to satisfy text messages’ 160 character limit, and to fit as much into each text as possible.
